Privacy Policy

〈JL Laser Industrial Machinery Co., Ltd.〉 has established and disclosed the following Privacy Policy in accordance with Article 30 of the Personal Information Protection Act to protect the personal information of the data subject and to promptly and smoothly address any related concerns.

This Privacy Policy will be effective from January 2, 2024.

Article 1: Purpose of Processing Personal Information

JL Laser Industrial Machinery Co., Ltd. processes personal information for the following purposes.
The personal information being processed will not be used for purposes other than those specified below. If the purpose of use is changed, necessary measures will be taken, including obtaining separate consent in accordance with Article 18 of the Personal Information Protection Act.

Article 2: Retention and Processing Period of Personal Information

① JL Laser Industrial Machinery Co., Ltd. processes and retains personal information within the retention and usage period stipulated by law or the period agreed upon by the data subject when the personal information was collected.

Article 4: Provision of Personal Information to Third Parties

JL Laser Industrial Machinery Co., Ltd. processes personal information only within the scope specified in Article 1 (Purpose of Processing Personal Information), and will provide personal information to third parties only when the data subject’s consent is obtained or in cases specified under Articles 17 and 18 of the Personal Information Protection Act, such as special provisions of law.

Article 5: Matters Concerning the Outsourcing of Personal Information Processing

① JL Laser Industrial Machinery Co., Ltd. outsources personal information processing tasks as follows in order to ensure smooth handling of personal information.

② When entering into outsourcing agreements, JL Laser Industrial Machinery Co., Ltd. specifies in documents such as the contract the prohibition of processing personal information beyond the purpose of the outsourced task, technical and managerial protective measures, restrictions on subcontracting, management and supervision of the subcontractor, and liability for damages, in accordance with Article 26 of the Personal Information Protection Act. The company also supervises the subcontractor to ensure that personal information is handled securely.
③ If the contents of the outsourced tasks or the subcontractor change, JL Laser Industrial Machinery Co., Ltd. will disclose the change through this Privacy Policy without delay.

Article 6: Procedures and Methods for Destruction of Personal Information

① JL Laser Industrial Machinery Co., Ltd. will destroy personal information without delay when the retention period has expired, the purpose of processing has been achieved, or when the information is no longer necessary.
② If the retention period of personal information consented to by the data subject has expired or the purpose of processing has been achieved, but the information must still be retained under other laws, the personal information will be moved to a separate database (DB) or stored in a different location.
③ The procedure and methods for destroying personal information are as follows
1. Destruction Procedure
JL Laser Industrial Machinery Co., Ltd. selects the personal information for destruction when the cause for destruction occurs, and obtains approval from the company’s personal information protection officer before destroying the information.
2. Destruction Method
For electronic files, a technical method that renders the records irretrievable will be used. Personal information printed on paper will be destroyed by shredding or incineration.

Article 7: Rights and Obligations of Data Subjects and Legal Representatives and How to Exercise Them

① Data subjects have the right to request access, correction, deletion, and suspension of processing of their personal information from JL Laser Industrial Machinery Co., Ltd. at any time.
② The exercise of the rights in paragraph 1 can be made in writing, by email, fax, etc., to JL Laser Industrial Machinery Co., Ltd. in accordance with Article 41, Paragraph 1 of the Enforcement Decree of the Personal Information Protection Act. JL Laser Industrial Machinery Co., Ltd. will take action without delay.
③ The rights under paragraph 1 may be exercised through a legal representative or an authorized agent of the data subject.
In this case, a power of attorney must be submitted in accordance with the format in Annex 11 of the ‘Notification on Personal Information Processing Methods (No. 2020-7)’.
④ Requests for access to personal information and suspension of processing may be restricted under Article 35, Paragraph 4, and Article 37, Paragraph 2 of the Personal Information Protection Act.
⑤ Requests for correction and deletion of personal information cannot be made if the personal information is specified as the subject of collection under other laws.
⑥ JL Laser Industrial Machinery Co., Ltd. will verify whether the person requesting access, correction, deletion, or suspension of processing is the data subject or a legitimate representative.

Article 8: Measures for Ensuring the Safety of Personal Information

“JL Laser Industrial Machinery Co., Ltd. has implemented the following measures to ensure the safety of personal information.
① Regular Internal Audits
We conduct internal audits regularly (once per quarter) to ensure the stability of personal information handling.
② Minimizing and Training Employees Handling Personal Information
We designate specific employees to handle personal information and limit the scope to minimize the number of people managing it.
③ Establishment and Implementation of an Internal Management Plan
We have established and are implementing an internal management plan to ensure the safe processing of personal information.
④ Technical Measures Against Hacking
We install security programs, regularly update and inspect them, and place systems in areas with restricted external access, applying both technical and physical monitoring and blocking to prevent hacking or data breaches.
⑤ Encryption of Personal Information
Users’ personal information, including passwords, is encrypted and stored securely so that only the user can access it. Additionally, important data is encrypted during file storage and transmission or protected using file-locking features.
⑥ Storage and Prevention of Tampering with Access Logs
We store and manage access records to the personal information processing system for at least one year, using security features to prevent tampering, theft, or loss of records.>
⑦ Access Restrictions to Personal Information
We take necessary steps to control access to personal information by granting, modifying, or revoking access rights to the database system handling personal data. Unauthorized external access is also controlled through intrusion prevention systems.
⑧ Use of Locking Devices for Document Security
Documents and storage media containing personal information are kept in secure locations with locking devices.
⑨ Access Control for Unauthorized Individuals
We maintain a separate physical storage space for personal information and have established and operate access control procedures for it.”

Article 9: Installation and Operation of Automatic Collection Devices, and Refusal of Such Collection

① JL Laser Industrial Machinery Co., Ltd. uses cookies to store and retrieve user information to provide personalized services.
② A cookie is a small piece of information sent by the server (http) of the website to the user’s computer browser, and it may be stored on the hard disk of the user’s PC.

2. 2.Installation, Operation, and Refusal of Cookies: You can refuse to store cookies by adjusting the settings in the “Tools> > Internet Options> > Privacy” menu of your web browser. 3.Consequences of Refusing Cookie Storage: If you refuse to store cookies, you may experience difficulties using personalized services.

Article 10: Collection, Use, Provision, and Refusal of Behavioral Information

We do not collect, use, or provide behavioral information for online personalized advertising or similar purposes.

Article 11: Additional Criteria for Use and Provision

JL Laser Industrial Machinery Co., Ltd. may use or provide personal information additionally without the consent of the data subject, in accordance with Article 15(3) and Article 17(4) of the Personal Information Protection Act, and considering the matters specified in Article 14-2 of the Enforcement Decree of the Personal Information Protection Act.
In this regard, JL Laser Industrial Machinery Co., Ltd. has considered the following factors before using or providing personal information additionally without the data subject’s consent:
① Whether the purpose of additional use or provision of personal information is related to the original collection purpose.
② Whether, in light of the circumstances of the collection or processing practices, it is foreseeable that the additional use or provision may occur.
③ Whether the additional use or provision of personal information unduly infringes upon the interests of the data subject.
④ Whether necessary safety measures, such as pseudonymization or encryption, have been implemented to ensure security.
※ Note: The criteria for considering the additional use or provision of personal information are determined and disclosed by the business/entity autonomously.

Article 12: Matters Regarding the Processing of Pseudonymized Information

JL Laser Industrial Machinery Co., Ltd. does not process pseudonymized information.

Article 13: Matters Regarding the Personal Information Protection Officer

① JL Laser Industrial Machinery Co., Ltd. has designated a Personal Information Protection Officer who is responsible for overseeing the management of personal information and addressing any inquiries, complaints, or damage relief related to personal information processing.

② Information subjects can contact the Personal Information Protection Officer and the responsible department for any inquiries, complaints, or damage relief related to personal information protection that arise while using JL Laser Industrial Machinery Co., Ltd.’s services (or business).

JL Laser Industrial Machinery Co., Ltd. will respond and address the inquiries promptly.

Article 14: Department for Receiving and Handling Personal Information Access Requests

Information subjects may submit requests for access to personal information under Article 35 of the Personal Information Protection Act to the department listed below. JL Laser Industrial Machinery Co., Ltd. will make efforts to ensure that personal information access requests are handled promptly.

If an individual has suffered rights or interests infringement due to a decision or inaction by the head of a public institution in response to a request under Articles 35 (Access to Personal Information), 36 (Correction/Deletion of Personal Information), or 37 (Suspension of Personal Information Processing) of the Personal Information Protection Act, they may file an administrative appeal in accordance with the Administrative Appeals Act.

Article 16: Changes to the Privacy Policy

① This Privacy Policy is effective as of January 2, 2024.
